About the PLAB exam

The Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test is the main route for internationally trained doctors to gain full GMC registration to practice in the UK. It's a two-part assessment — PLAB 1, a written multiple-choice exam, and PLAB 2, a practical clinical (OSCE-style) exam. PLAB 1 covers the clinical knowledge expected of a doctor entering the second year of the UK's Foundation Programme, across medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and psychiatry, and can be sat in a number of countries outside the UK. TopQbank's PLAB 1 question bank with answers is written-format multiple-choice, matching that exam's real format. Confirm current eligibility (including English-language requirements), fees, and test centre locations directly with the GMC before booking.
