MRCGP AKT Exam Dates and Fee for 2026 and 2027

The AKT runs four times a year, and each sitting has its own booking deadline and Pearson booking window. Here are the published dates from the RCGP's applications page (https://www.rcgp.org.uk/mrcgp-exams/mrcgp-exam-applications). Check that page before you book, since dates are updated each year.
October 2026: final booking 1 September 2026, Pearson booking window 7–16 September 2026, exam 26 October 2026, results 25 November 2026.
January 2027: reasonable adjustment requests by 10 November 2026, final booking 1 December 2026, Pearson booking window 7–16 December 2026, exam 26 January 2027, results 24 February 2027.
April 2027: reasonable adjustment requests by 9 February 2027, final booking 2 March 2027, Pearson booking window 8–17 March 2027, exam 27 April 2027, results 26 May 2027.
July 2027: reasonable adjustment requests by 27 April 2027, exam 6 July 2027, results 4 August 2027. The final booking date and Pearson window were still to be confirmed when we checked.
The AKT fee is £481. Since 1 April 2026 you can pay in stages: a 25% deposit, a second payment of 25%, and the remaining 50% by the final booking deadline. Bookings are made through MyRCGP, and results are released at 17:00 on the results date in your MRCGP Trainee ePortfolio.
Study takeaway: pick your sitting first and work back from it. The final booking deadline is about two months before the exam, and reasonable adjustment requests close earlier still, so put those dates in your calendar before you plan your revision.
